Android operated smartphones are increasing their market share day by day. The people who do not have a dual-core phone (probably 90% of users since only two dual-core models are available – LG Optimus 2X and Samsung Galaxy S II) are beginning to notice that their devices are no longer capable of performing tasks as well as before.
You should consider taking the following steps and hope that your phone will no longer crash when you log into Twitter or open your browser.
- Disable screen animation ( Go to Settings>Display>Animations)
- Disable browser plug-ins (Browser>Settings>Plugins)
- Use a dedicated launcher such as Launcher Pro and ADW Launcher instead of the native one. Performance is increased but stability is still not adequate.
- Close the live wallpaper – the one that changes daily depending on the part of the day and has those grass blades that move
- Reduce the number of widgets and icons on the start screen
- Disable all the apps you no longer use. Truth is you often forget about them but each and every app uses RAM and makes your phone work slower
- Reduce data update frequency via 3G or Wi-Fi (Setting>Accounts)
This is not new information for most of you and perhaps you already know how to install a ROM or overclock the processor. This means you are an advanced user but you should not forget the basic notions.
